Help Mrs. Jamison, Our Amazing Principal
Donation protected
Kris Jamison is an amazing principal at River Oaks Charter School in Stockton, California. She is someone who truly has a heart for children and does everything she possibly can to give them the best education possible. She is also someone that works extremely hard to help the teachers at River Oaks reach their full potential. Her loving and caring nature makes her the perfect principal and administrator.
Unfortunately, in early 2018, she was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. She is a fighter and continues to battle every single day, but this diagnosis has taken a toll on her health, her job, and her finances. Mrs. Jamison is currently undergoing bi-weekly rounds of chemo and still manages to come into work part time just to see all the amazing kids at school and to make sure that everyone is taken care of.
Even though Kris is going through the battle of her life, she comes in with a huge smile on her face, hugs all of the children, and makes sure that the staff feels loved, informed, and appreciated. If you saw her in the hallway at River Oaks, you wouldn't even know that she was battling cancer. It takes a strong person to wake up everyday, not feeling 100%, throw on a smile, and work hard to make sure that the 400+ students at River Oaks know that she cares about them.
Mrs. Jamison has impacted thousands of lives throughout her career in education. Before becoming the principal of River Oaks in 2013, she taught at Vincent Shalvey Academy as a 4th and 5th grade teacher for many years. Through all of her years as a teacher and administrator, she has worked hard to prepare her students for the future, interact with families to make them feel welcome, informed, and appreciated, and she has worked hard to make other teachers lives as easy as possible.
With all that Mrs. Jamison has done for us, it is time for us to do something for her. We would like to raise some money for her to pay for medical expenses, pay for groceries, and help make ends meet as she can only work part time at the moment. We want to show Mrs. Jamison that we care about her just as much as she cares about us.
