Help Mrs. Cyr Combat COPD

Donation protected
My Mom

My mom has made quite the transformation over the past six years from when she was perfectly healthy in 2012 to when she was fighting and beating stage 3B lung cancer from November 2017 - August 2018, to now combating the debilitating effects of COPD.

I hope the photos above show her fighting spirit and faith through it all.

How She Got Here

She quit smoking in 2014, but sadly it was too late to prevent complications as the seeds of cancer had already laid root, and even when she beat that another threat was lurking in her lungs.

She is grateful at this time to be in remission from her lung cancer, but sadly another grave illness cropped up that has brought even more complications and diminished quality of life - Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disorder.

She fights every day to keep her oxygen levels high enough, and her heart rate steady and controlled, but she knows without treatments which are not covered by medical insurance, her struggle can only worsen.

She prays one day to finally be able to get off of her 24/7 oxygen requirements, and once again enjoy being able to do the things many of us take for granted. For many requiring oxygen all day every day is a literal death sentence, and my mom is hopeful she can get off the oxygen, and possibly even extend her life - perhaps significantly.

The Future

We're seeking these funds for my mom so that she can pursue various medical options that are not covered by insurance.

My mom is aware there is no cure for COPD, but there are many current pilot programs and cutting edge medical procedures that are just coming to the forefront and shining light on COPD, and bringing hope to the millions suffering from this and other conditions.

These procedures are new, experimental, perhaps controversial, very expensive, and not without risk. My mom is prepared to take these risks based on the research she has done, and doesn't expect to be cured. She believes the possible benefits outweigh the risks, and simply can't live like this any more.

She does have faith that her overall quality of life will be improved, and she does believe it will likely add years to her lifetime, and of course she prays for freedom from the chains of an oxygen tank. She knows there will still be many bad days nonetheless.

She also knows things could go wrong, or procedures might not work, but she's put her trust in God that he's put her on the right path, and she's prepared to pursue these medical options with extreme diligence.

After The Procedures

Nobody knows how my mom's story will ultimately end, but she would love to share her full experience with anyone who is interested in learning more about possible treatment options for those suffering from COPD.

We will update everyone here with as much information as we can as she undergoes the ultimate procedure(s), and your thoughts, prayers, sharing, and donations are greatly appreciated!

Please See The Update From July 1,  2019 below. We are no longer accepting donations thanks to achieving the adjusted campaign goal.

Update July 1, 2019

My mom is grateful for all the support and love shown over the past few months. At this time we have raised enough money for her to have her first stem cell procedure in August, so donations are currently turned off.

After she has her procedure we will update your guys here, and thanks again to everyone for all the love, sharing, and donations.
