Help Mrs. Cichos after the death of her husband.

This GoFundMe is for the medical bills and funeral expenses after the death of Mr. Conrad Cichos Sr. who passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on September 29, 2021, the feast of St. Michael the Archangel, patron saint of police officers.

Con, as he was known by family and friends, was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, and great

grandfather. He was born in Grandin, North Dakota on June 1, 1950, the son of Lawrence and Dorothy

Cichos. After high school, Con proudly served in the 82nd Airborne Division. While in the service, he returned to North Dakota to marry the love of his life, Alyce Roehrich. They celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary June 6, 2020.

Conrad joined the police force in 1971 in Jamestown North Dakota where he was named patrolman of

the year before he moved to Colorado where he joined the Aurora Police Department. He proudly served as an Aurora Police Officer until his retirement in 2013.

For the past couple weeks, Conrad hadn't been feeling normal so he went in to the doctors to get a routine check up, where they told him that he needed to get quadruple bypass surgery as his heart was only pumping at 30% capacity. Conrad was admitted to the hospital a few days later, his wife Alyce spending every moment she could by his side. There he underwent the quadruple bypass surgery, his family in the waiting room hoping and praying for it to go as planned. Before the surgery, he was visited by a priest from the parish where he attended daily mass and received extreme unction just in case the surgery didn't go well. After surgery, the doctor assured his family that it was a "textbook" surgery and he should recover as planned. However, Conrad kept fainting so they did a CT scan where they found blood clots in his lungs. He then was promptly re-admitted to the ICU, where he received blood thinners and his condition was monitored. That night, his daughter received the call that the blood clots had travelled to his heart and he had passed away.

Conrad was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence, and brother, Gary, and 3 grandchildren.

He is survived, loved, and mourned by his loving wife, Alyce, children Russell (Keii), Victoria Banks (Sherwyn), David(Rosario), Jonathan (Shasity), Rebecca Fox (Nathan), Conrad, Jr. (Shonelle), Matthew (Monique),Virginia Fullerton (Joseph), Thomas (Elizabeth), 57 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

These fund will be going directly to his wife to use for his funeral expenses.
