Help Mr. Rubinstein Rebuild After Devastating Apartment Fire

On Sunday May 11, 2025, Horlick High School’s beloved teacher James Rubinstein suffered a devastating loss when an apartment fire destroyed everything he owned. Thankfully, he made it out safely...but his home, clothing, and all personal belongings were lost in the flames.

If you know Mr. Rubinstein, you know he has spent years going above and beyond for his students. He’s more than a teacher; he’s a mentor, a safe place, and for many at-risk students, a lifeline. Whether it’s providing food, school supplies, or just being there to listen, Mr. Rube has poured his heart and his own money into supporting kids who need it most.

Now it’s our turn to help him.

This fundraiser will help James:

Secure temporary housing and essentials

Replace clothing, furniture, and personal items

Cover day-to-day living expenses as he works to rebuild

Offset any additional costs that arise from this sudden loss
