Help Mr Pete Haywood Fight Cancer
In late December 2022, Peter was diagnosed with a serious brain tumour, a High-Grade Glioma, also known as GBM4 and Glioblastoma. The current treatment plan includes chemotherapy and radiotherapy. There is no cure for Peter’s condition.
Peter has a young family, with Children aged 7 and 10 with his wife Kasia. He works as a graphic designer, record sleeve designer and music producer. Mr Pete Haywood was a highly regarded DJ in the UK and Europe holding residencies such as Brighton’s Wild Fruit for over a decade. His seminal deep house track Goloka’s ‘Thinking About You’ from the ‘Afterglow’ album is now a classic appearing on over 50 compilations. His work life has now stopped.
The average glioblastoma survival time is 12-18 months – only 25% of patients survive more than one year, and only 5% of patients survive more than five years. We wish to raise funds to support Pete, explore clinical trial treatments and help with the everyday care and support he requires.
Peter & Kasia has shown remarkable courage in this battle and are being typically stoic and tough for the children. Now is our turn to pitch in, step up and help Peter in the biggest fight of his life. These funds are intended to help the family with medical expenses, disrupted work finances, and peace of mind for the family’s future.
