We rescued Mr. Peanut Butter, a golden retriever, from the euthanasia list about a year ago. Since then, he’s been working through behavioral challenges with a trainer and slowly learning to trust again.

A few weeks ago, during a grooming appointment, a large mass was found on his tail.

After seeing the vet, we were told it can’t just be removed, the entire tail needs to be amputated in order to properly treat it and confirm it isn’t cancerous.

We don’t know yet if it’s cancer, but we can’t risk it spreading and it is growing fast and is painful to him. We think it may even be a cause of his behavioral issues!

His surgery, biopsy, and aftercare are estimated to cost $1,500–$1,600, which is unexpected for our rescue.

Mr. Peanut Butter has already fought for his life once. We’re doing everything we can to give him another chance.
