Help Mr. Lee Rebuild His Barber Shop with Michael Enoch

Donation protected
On Thursday April 26, 2024 our friend "Mr. Lee" was a victim of a senseless crime. Lee was stabbed inside of his barber shop "First Capital" which was located on Broadway in Kingston next to UPAC. His injury was life threatening as when he was 'sliced" by a potential customer who walked into the shop this caused an incision that left his intestines exposed. After fast acting paramedics brought him to Benedictine hospital he underwent extensive emergency surgery and pulled through. He was safely discharged 4 days later and was back at his master barber chair within 2 weeks. This is the kind of man "Mr. Lee" is. A hard working community minded,.mentor to many with a giving soul. Lee has been a master barber for over 50 years utilizing his talents and work ethic since 1975. He has touched so many lives with his talent starting in Poughkeepsie, liberty, Monticello, Middletown then syracuse. He settled in Kingston in 2008 and has been a positive community minded family orientated fixture in Kingston ever since. When COVID shut down the world Lee did quit as he had a solid customer base who still needed him. He did house calls and was able to safely meet the needs of the community. When not at the shop you can see him at ARC where he cuts the hair of this disabled population that is part of his community. "Mr. Lee" has not missed a beat since this tragedy that almost ended his life. 2 weeks ago without any notice Lee was informed by his landlord that he is being evicted due to issues with the shop. Within a few days Lee was able to secure another location for "master cuts" at 702 Broadway directly across the street from Broadway Lights DIner. With the help of some community members he was able to get the shop painted and up and running. Lee has been working 7 days a week while still caring for his 9yo son. Lee still has a long road ahead of him with the weight of a new business primarily on his shoulders. We are asking for some financial assistance to help this well respected and cared for pilar of the community with all the expenses of opening up a business with employees and interns who are new to this trade. Thank you for your time and spread the word. Look out for community sponsored events for promotions and "free' haircuts for the children of our community.
