Help Mr. Griffin, a US Navy Veteran, Save His Home

Donation protected
Dear Community,

My name is Randy LeBlanc, and I reach out today with a heavy heart. I have initiated this GoFundMe campaign for my neighbor and dear friend of 24 years, Ira Griffin, a proud US Navy veteran. We are both among the original homeowners in our beloved neighborhood, living just across the street from one another. Mr. Griffin is a gentle soul, cherished by all who know him, often found in his garage, watching the world go by. His warm presence draws in children and adults alike, who come to share moments of joy, laughter, and ice cream.

Although the cover photo reflects a few years past, Mr. Griffin is now 82 years old. He was the proud owner of a modest yet successful pest control business, "Classic Services," before retiring. Over the years, we have forged a friendship that has seen us share holidays, gatherings, and countless neighborly exchanges. My wife and I have frequently assisted him with home maintenance, shopping, and other needs.

After selling his business to a senior employee, Mr. Griffin entered retirement, but his health has sadly taken a toll. He has faced numerous hospitalizations, including a harrowing period in a coma. The medications and challenges he faces can make him appear aloof, as is often the case with those of advanced age.

Regrettably, due to a series of circumstances—be it pride, guilt, or health-related issues—Mr. Griffin has fallen behind on his HOA dues for the past three years. He has been sued and received notice of impending foreclosure set for July 1, 2025. It pains me to know that he kept this burden to himself, shielding his struggles from me and his family until now.

Our HOA dues amount to approximately $1,300 per year; however, due to accrued late fees and legal expenses, the total has escalated to over $16,000. I deeply wish that Ira had confided in me earlier, as I would have endeavored to assist him; unfortunately, such a sum is beyond my personal capacity to bear.

Therefore, I humbly turn to our community for support, appealing to your generosity to help Mr. Griffin retain his home. Any contribution, no matter the size, would be met with profound gratitude.

Thank you for considering this important cause.

Sincerely,
Randy LeBlanc
