Help Mr. Grey Find His Forever Home

Okay guys, here goes. Remember that grey cat I posted? Well, this weekend, he sat out in the rain day and night. Not accustomed I’m sure to the outside. Unlike the ferrels who run and hide, he just stood there waiting for me to come and go, sopping wet.

I couldn’t take it anymore, so I brought him to my vet. This cat got dumped. How do I know? I was able to just pick him up, and put him in the carrier.

So this poor cat was covered in mites, that were ravaging his skin. The vet shaved him, shampooed him, got rid of the pests and is treating his dermatitis. Such a good boy! Look at him in the picture in his bathtub! So easy going.

Then the doc called and told me he was FIV positive . He’s not FeLV thank goodness, but FIV.

What he has is not transmissible to other cats, only if one cat took a deep bite out of the other. He does have a suppressed immune system.

The pain now is, what do we do with him? Doc hasn’t told me his age yet, but I believe he is old. Doc said he only has a few teeth left.

I’m not sure I could trust him and Teapot being together. Teapot HATES other cats and is 20 years old.

I’d hate to have to put him back on the street. He needs a warm loving home. A person, or a family that would see him through to the end, whenever that may be.

I wish there was someone out there who had a pet and said “ oh never again, I can’t go through that again.” I would ask that person to do something greater. Care for this cat, with your fears and feelings aside. It could be the greatest gift! Taking emotional chances is part of life. He would sure be grateful and so would I.

All he wants is a human. He loves people.

He is currently at the vet, and I’m sure in a few days, (if all other tests come up ok), decisions will have to be made.
