Dear Friends,
In these unprecedented times we all know individuals, couples and families that are struggling in some way. One such person is our dear friend, Bill DiClemente. For those of you who do not know Bill well, he had taught as a 4 th grade teacher at St. Katharine of Siena School in Wayne, PA. for over ten years.
Teaching is Bill’s second career and he was a passionate educator for the SKS community and was devoted to his students and their families. Bill has 2 daughters: Emily and Alexis and he lost his wife, Sharon, to breast
cancer when both girls were very young.
Some of you, but perhaps not all of you, are aware that Bill suffers from heart disease. Bill had stents put in several years ago, and the past few years has needed to have them replaced. Recently, Bill’s heart-related symptoms have worsened requiring repetitive heart procedures in an attempt to relieve the symptoms and restore some normalcy to Bill's life.
Covid has exacerbated the situation in that with Bill’s compromised heart, he could not go back to teach in the classroom. Around the Christmas holiday, Bill’s short-term disability came to a completion, but Bill was denied long-term disability by the insurer. On top of the stress of no income, Bill’s heart-related symptoms increased which has had him back in the hospital last week. His doctors are trying once again to get to the remaining problem-artery fixed.
I humbly ask you and anyone you know to contribute whatever they are capable of towards a fund that will help Bill and his family both replace the months of lost income as they hope and pray for Long Term Disability to get approved AND provide funds that are likely going to be needed to engage legal support
for the appeal. And, as always, continue to keep Bill and his family in your prayers.
