Help Mr. D Rebuild After Tragic House Fire

For the past 25 years, Mr. D has been more than just a fry cook at Prejean’s Cajun Restaurant in Carencro, Louisiana — he’s been family. On Monday, May 12, 2025, Mr. D and his loved ones suffered a devastating loss when their family home was engulfed in flames. Everything they owned was lost in the fire — including their beloved family dog.

Mr. D is a devoted husband, a proud father of four, and a loving grandfather to nine beautiful grandchildren. He’s the kind of man who would give you the shirt off his back without hesitation. He’s been a constant in our community — from his days boxing with John Stutes back in 1971 right here in Carencro, to his years of service in our kitchen, bringing warmth and flavor to countless meals.

Now, it’s our turn to give back.

We’re asking our community — the friends, neighbors, and guests who know and love Mr. D — to come together and help him and his family rebuild their lives. Every donation, no matter the amount, will go directly toward helping them recover from this heartbreaking loss.
