Help moving to safe and stable housing

Donation protected
My name is Sarah. I have 3 amazing children, 10, 13 & 17. In 2018 my husband of over 20 years had what was the start of many, schitzo-affective episodes. He lost our home, cars and any and all money we had saved.

The kids and I have spent the last 4 years trying to survive while Living in RV's, motels and renting rooms or apartments. Unfortunately, always in areas we could afford, but that proved to be unsafe. I was physically assaulted outside my home in front of my children in 2021. A gang war, that proved fatal happened in the street, in front of my driveway in October 2022. We quickly packed, stayed in motels and then rented rooms in a friends home.

I was able to get on the open housing authority list in San Luis Obispo County, where I was born and raised immediately after.

I have been actively seeking safe and stable housing since.
When my husband wasnt in a behavioral heath hospital, he would show up anywhere we are, and cause more trauma. The last of which was when he attempted yet another suicide, last weekend. He took a dirty box knife and proceeded to cut his arm to bleed out. But not before he verbally threatened to do so, in front of our 10 year old son.
I believe first, it was an attempt to seek opiods from the hospital, which he got and then as a last stitch effort to guilt the kids and I into not moving.

With the help of Peoples Self Help housing, I was chosen to rent an apartment with my children next month in Templeton, CA. The organization helps by reducing my rent to what I can afford.
Unfortunately the deposit and moving expenses are not covered.

I have filed a legal separation to protect this opportunity, so that he is not able to show up unannounced and try to stay with us illegally, which has been the case over and over again. I have set strict quidelines, which are stipulated to protect the four of us.

We will continue to seek counseling and with our strong faith based family and community, I truly believe this will be the beginning of the normalcy, stability and the healing we desire so much and my children deserve.

For my childrens sake, I do pray that this will be enough to encourage him to WANT to finaly get the honest deep invasive treatment that he needs, but that is out of my control.

I need help hiring people to move me from Southern California to the Central Coast, with truck rentals and with the deposits for the apartment.

I have neurological and auto-immune disorders that deem me disabled. I will not have the 30 hours a week of In home support services, while I am attempting the move and shortly after, until I can re-establish my case and find a worker to hire.

I look forward to all four of us becoming a part of a small, self aware, caring community and I know that, with God, friends, family and the kindness of others this will be the positive new beginning the kids and I so crave.

If you are in any position to help in any way, whether in southern california or the central coast, or if you can help financially, my kids and I are forever grateful and humbled.

In addition, if you are willing to keep us all, in your prayers and well wishes, I believe the power of prayer, with positive thoughts are what my family needs first and foremost.
