Trinity Day School is a non-profit childcare center and preschool caring for Portland Area families since 1985. Our program depends on the support of local businesses and community members to continue giving quality care to our community's children and families. All proceeds will go directly into rebuilding our playground to provide the children with an outdoor learning environment.

We at Trinity Day School believe outdoor play is essential to offer in early childhood education. The teachers feel it would be a great asset to the program to have an outdoor learning environment that mimics our indoor learning environment with dramatic play, a block area, sensory tables, an art area, and a gross motor area. Research shows that outdoor education and play support emotional, behavioral and intellectual development. Children who learn outdoors develop a sense of self, independence, confidence, creativity, decision-making and problem-solving skills, empathy towards others, motor skills, self-discipline and initiative. An outdoor learning environment offers countless social, cognitive, academic, emotional and health benefits that could aid them throughout their childhood and well into their adult life.
