Help Us Bring Greg’s Mom Home Safely

We are asking for help to bring Greg’s 71-year-old mother home to live with us, where she can receive the care, safety, and support she truly needs.

Greg’s mom has recently suffered pelvic fractures that have significantly limited her mobility. Simple daily activities—walking, bathing, and moving safely through a home—have become difficult and dangerous. Right now, she cannot safely live on her own.

Our goal is to relocate her from Florida to our home in Waterford, Michigan so she can be surrounded by family and avoid being placed in a nursing home.

However, our current home is not equipped for someone with mobility limitations.

To safely care for her, we need to make critical accessibility modifications, including:

Creating a safe, accessible bedroom space on the main level

Installing a walk-in or barrier-free shower

Adding grab bars and safety features

Improving accessibility throughout the home

These changes are not cosmetic—they are medically necessary to prevent falls, maintain her dignity, and allow her to live safely with family.

We are actively applying for grants and assistance programs, but these processes take time and often do not cover the full cost. We are doing everything we can, but we need help to make this happen.
