Help move Mark in!
Donation protected
Our newest member of the Attic Brewing Co. team needs your help.
Mark is 28, and was born with Cerebral Palsy. When we found out he didn't have a safe place to live, we knew we had to help.
Like thousands of people in America living with disabilities, Mark's Social Security Disability Insurance benefits make it hard for him to find safe housing. His benefits are less than $800 per month, and rent prices are continuing to increase. The current wait time for Philadelphia Public Housing is 12-15 YEARS! And the waitlist for Housing Choice Vouchers (Section 8) is closed.
After some hard searching, and help from our community we were able to find an efficiency apartment for $650 a few blocks from the brewery.
Mark is excited and thankful to have a safe place to live.
Here's where we need your help. In order to move in, Mark needs $1950. On top of that, everything he owns is in an Ikea bag.
Our hope is to raise enough money in the next three days to get Mark moved into his new place by Monday 10/5/20 and buy him some furniture to make his new place feel like home.
100% of funds raised will be used for Mark. Any extra funds will be deposited into Mark's bank account for him to use when needed. Mark does have a designated payee to help him with his finances.
Mark walked up to Attic Brewery and said "I need a job. I have Cerebral Palsy, but I can clean, sweep and bus tables." We gave Mark a chance and he's done an amazing job. He usually shows up to work at least an hour early, and is always looking for ways to help.
He likes to play the piano, read, rap, listen to music, play video games and spoil our brewery dog Nina with snuggles.
While 2020 has affected everyone in their own way, our vulnerable populations have been impacted more than ever. We have generous friends, family, neighbors, customers and investors. If you can help with even $10, it would be a huge help!
Thank you!
