Help Moussa and His Family
Donation protected
In 2015, Moussa's family home in northern Syria was destroyed by fighting when ISIS took control of the area, and they fled for their lives. They have now been living in a refugee camp on the Turkish border since 2016--that's 6 years in a tent that is freezing in the winter and boiling in the summer. Moussa found work as a teacher at a nearby school; however, the school was closed last year due to COVID, and he has been unable to find other means of supporting his family: his parents, wife, and 3 young children. His parents require medical treatment for conditions that are worsened by living in such an extreme climate with only a tent for protection, and other necessities for his children are difficult to come by or afford.
I met Moussa and his family when I worked in northern Syria as an archaeologist in 2008. He and his father worked with us, took care of the site, and hosted us for dinners, together with their extended family, in their family home.
Despite unimaginable hardship, Moussa never once asked for help until this year, and I want to repay the kindness he and his family showed me. I am raising funds to help support Moussa and his family. Any amount will be a huge help to them in buying food, clothes, safe drinking water, and medicine.
Please give whatever you can, and know that it will make an immediate difference in the lives of Moussa, his parents, and his young children.
