Help Mouse Walk: CT Scan and Spinal Surgery fundraiser.
Donation protected
Hey Folks, This is Mouse and she needs your help! Mouse is a young 2 year old healthy sweet playful cat that has somehow managed to injure her spine. She has been being seen at Hanson Meekins vet for the last month to try and treat her injury but things are not improving with just pain meds, steroids and antibiotics. In fact they have been slowly getting worse and she is slowly becoming paralyzed on her back end. Dr Meekins has reffered her to a specialist, Dr Daly at Oregon Veterinary Refferal Associates (OVRA) in Springfield, for a CT Scan to get a better idea of just exactly what is going on with her spine and whether it can be repaired or not with surgery. As you can imagine this kind of care takes a specialist and can be prohibitively expenaive. For the CT scan alone we have been given a quote of $3000-$5000, depending on whether they need to use a contrast dye, and if surgery is warranted we are looking at another estimated $6000-$8000. So all in to save Mouse, this otherwise healthy happy young cat, we are looking at between $9000-13,000. Unfortunatly this is much more than I can afford to do alone or that we can afford to take out of general cat house funds. I am also looking into the possibility of available grants to help with these expenses to try and make this possible for her, but the sooner she can recieve treatment, the better the likelyhood of a full recovery. She can still walk some but she is quickly loosing muscle tone and becoming weaker and showing neurologic signs of knuckling over on her hind feet. When she does fall over she is starting to drag herself with her front feet. For her longterm outlook she really needs our help! Any funds raised that are not used for Mouse's care will be donated to the Kohls Cat House Cat Rescue to be used to help any other cats in need. For those who dont know, Kohls Cat House is a strictly donation based, registered non profit cat rescue in Coos Bay Oregon. If you are able, Please donate to help save Mouse. Together we can hopefully accomplish something we cant do alone!
