I’m Jude Filippides, and I’m organizing this Go Fund Me for myself. I have been a student at Mount Holyoke College since September 2021. It was my dream school and I have been so grateful for the opportunity to learn and grow in this community and participate in many MHC events and traditions such as Mountain Day, Drag Ball, Pangy Day, Gracious Dinner, the Big Broadcast, and more. Unfortunately, this year my aid was decreased drastically, so my portion of the tuition has nearly quadrupled in price. Quite simply, my family and I cannot afford this. It is looking extremely likely that I will be forced to drop out of MHC. This would be heartbreaking, not only because Mount Holyoke was my dream school, but also because I’ve worked so hard to not only get in but continue my education here. I fought through a type 1 diabetes diagnosis and hospitalization during my sophomore year spring semester midterms; a family emergency over my junior year finals; transition and numerous mental health issues, all while maintaining a GPA of 3.8, working multiple jobs including at Mount Holyoke’s very own dining hall, and being an active, engaged member of the Mount Holyoke community. While I’m incredibly disappointed with the current situation, I am holding out hope that I might still graduate with the rest of my class. I decided to crowd fund to try and cover my final year’s tuition. As well, we have appealed the financial aid offer, but right now that isn’t looking too promising. Any amount helps. Please, please help me graduate from MHC. I have worked so hard for so long to get here and to have it taken away from me now would devastating.

 If, worst case scenario, I do not make enough money to afford to go to Mount Holyoke in the fall, the money raised will go to paying for whatever college I would transfer to in order to finish my degree.
