Help Mothra Beat Cancer

Donation protected

Our Mothra, the spiciest meatball, the stinkiest princess, needs your help to beat cancer. She has a large tumor in her lung that needs removing and is booked in for surgery on Friday, February 12th, 2021. If everything goes well, she has every chance of living a long, happy life. Please help me and Mothra become old ladies together.

Mothra came to live with us on May 16th, 2017. The first thing she did was climb on the kitchen table. We still have no idea how she did this. She is a rescue who we were told originally came from a puppy mill. She is a papillon mix who was born with no eyes and is the bravest, most loving and funny dog I have ever known. She may be only 15lbs, but she is the heart of our house. The first to break up a fight, to "defend" our home from all threats (mainly squirrels on the roof) and to comfort anyone who cries. She absolutely rules over us all. She's never met anyone she didn't immediately trust with her life, has waded out into belly deep snow to save her brother from the snow shovel and is beloved by all who meet her.

Our mail lady threatens to put her in her pocket and take her home every single day.

Mothra was supposed to be my dog, but it became clear immediately that Steve is her person forever and ever. They have barely been apart since she got here. They say it takes a big man to love a small dog, but you haven't seen anying until you've seen a 6'3 lumberjack-looking dude who always has a floofy dog favored by European nobility at his heels or in his arms.

Steve's not ready to let go, not yet. He's been sick himself with a mystery chronic illness for a year now, and Mothra has been looking after him. Please help us to help her stay with him a little longer.

Our Mothra has still got a lot of living to do. Our household is not going to boss around itself!

Mothra is booked into the Maine Veterinary Medical Center on Friday morning (2/12/2021). She will have a consult and a CT scan to determine for sure if surgery is the path forward. If it is, it will happen that day. This Go Fund Me is to pay for the lung tumor procedure based on a quote from the hospital. If it is decided that it won't do much good (we will absolutely not put Mothra through any unnecessary pain and suffering) then we will refund all monies.

Thank you, thank you, thank you in advance to anyone who contributes.
