My name is Grace aka Sumayah and I am fundraising for my mother Shaahiyda Knight. My mother is the mother of 5 beautiful children (two of which are on the spectrum) and 4 extremely busy grandchildren.

A little over a month ago, she was diagnosed with Stage 2-3 Triple Negative Breast Cancer. Although two malignant tumors have been identified, various tests were performed and as far as we know, cancer hasn’t metastasized to other parts of the body.

Her insurance covers the chemotherapy; however, additional treatments are needed to boost her compromised immune system.

We hope that, by way of chemotherapy and additional treatment after your prayer, the tumors will undergo a spontaneous regression or shrink at a minimum.

In addition to the chemotherapy, she is receiving the following treatments:

She has been receiving the aforementioned treatments but the port will be inserted and chemotherapy will begin the week of January 1. Although things can go longer or shorter, she has been told that she has an 8-month treatment plan.

My mom is a Master in Education holder with over two decades of experience teaching at grade school and university levels. She is currently a working mom, teacher, and tutor in California. Due to my sister’s special needs, she homeschools her and works diligently to reinforce language arts skills with the other children. She usually takes my twin brother and sister and grandchildren to various activities; however, California is expensive and with gas prices above $4.50/gallon, trips to hospitals, clinics, and children's activities are costly.

I’m asking that you donate to my mother’s cause. Money will go toward additional treatments (not covered by insurance), travel expenses, and living expenses.
