Hello, my name is Julia.

Over the past year, my family has faced more challenges than we ever imagined. Like many families, we have been struggling financially and doing everything we can just to stay afloat and keep a stable home for our family.

Recently, we received devastating news that changed our lives forever — I have been diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer with lymphatic infiltration.

I am the mother of a beautiful, energetic 21-month-old daughter who means everything to me. She is my reason to fight and my light on the darkest days. Right now, my greatest focus is beating this cancer so I can continue to be here for her and watch her grow.

In the coming months I will be undergoing aggressive treatment, including surgery, chemotherapy, and other necessary medical care. While I am determined to fight with everything I have, treatment makes it impossible for me to work during this time.

As a result, our family is facing overwhelming financial pressure.

Between mounting medical expenses not covered by provincial healthcare, transportation to and from treatments, and the everyday costs of maintaining our home and caring for our daughter, we are struggling to keep up. Our biggest fear right now is not just the cancer itself — it’s losing our stability during the most difficult fight of our lives.
