Dear beautiful Gofundme community,

I (Patil) have finally bit the bullet and taken this step to seek support in helping my beautiful, sister in law, Lorie who is suffering from aggressive breast cancer. I really need your help.

Lorie, who is 35 years old, has been one of my closest friends since our teenage years. As the years went by, i got married to her brother , which has strengthened our bond, making her not only a close friend but also my sister-in-law. As teenagers we always dreamed about this bond when we grow older. Now, Lorie is married and is the proud mother of two lovely daughters, Isabella, aged 8, and Luciella, aged 4.

On Tuesday 24 October 2023 Lorie was diagnosed with Breast Cancer Stage 3 (Invasive Ductal Carcinoma), which was very aggressive and about to spread. After undergoing chemotherapy for months, she also had to have her breasts removed.

The unfortunate circumstance extends beyond the illness, as Lorie resides in Beirut, Lebanon, where access to healthcare is severely limited. Furthermore, the ongoing war and financial crises has exacerbated the challenges associated with obtaining medical care.

We have invested a significant amount of resources into the chemotherapy (30.000EUR), but the medication required for her treatment over the next two years is either unavailable or prohibitively expensive, making it increasingly difficult for us to sustain the financial support needed.

She would never ask for help but let’s come together to support this amazing family as they navigate a journey no one should face alone. The last thing they need to worry about is the financial burden of the long and difficult road ahead.

This is Lorie’s fight, and if anyone can conquer it, it’s her.
