Hello, my name is Annalee and I am a mother and a humanitarian from Woodstock N.Y. I created this fundraiser on behalf of my dear friend Mosab who is a father of three from G*za. Mosab is a G*zan native who is currrently residing in a refugee camp in Greece. He is desperately trying to raise funds for an immediate evacuation of his wife and three children who are still trapped in G*za. Before the war, Mosab left G*za "in search of a better life” for his children. On May 9th of last year he risked his life and fled to Turkey by sea. Upon arrival in Turkish waters, the boat, passengers and all possessions were seized by the authorities. The entire crew was arrested and jailed for 15 days. Upon release, Musaab traveled by sea to the island of Samos in Greece where he's awaiting an adjustment of status. Mosab is desperately seeking help with the evacuation of his wife and three children Saif (6), Adam (4) and Muhammed (2) to Greece by way of Egypt. To do so, he must first secure legal fees for his family's refugee paperwork in the amount of $1,500. Flights from Egypt are currently in the range of $250 per passenger for a total of $1000 for flights for the children and their mother. The cost of travel & brokerage fees to evacuate to Egypt are upwards of $5000 per adult and $1,500 per child. These fees have been grossly inflated as travel brokers are profiteering off the war. Increased global awareness & outrage should hopefully cause these fees decrease in the foreseeable future. Our fundraising goal doesn't account for additional expenses like food, shelter etc., nor does this goal match all funds currently needed. I'm simply hoping that people can find it in their heart to help this family survive and hopefully arrive in Greece in alive and in one piece (LITERALLY). The pleas from Gaza seem endless and it's easy for all of us to feel helpless in these tragic times. Uniting this family is entirely possible if we all do what we can to donate, share, comment and pray for this family.
