Help Corine as she fights through a brain tumor
My mom, Corine is one of the most loving and caring people I know and is always taking care of others around her. She is mom to my 13 year old sister and I. She’s had some misfortune in the last while and is working really hard to keep going and stay strong but needs your help! My mom is the last person that would ever ask for this kind of help so I’m doing it for her, hoping to help relieve some of the stress she is currently facing. Here is her story.
Right before Christmas of 2020 my mom got an infection on her hand. My mom had went to the clinic but the doctors didn’t think much of it and prescribed her a cream and antibiotics. At Christmas, the infection got so bad and she was in so much pain as the infection had gotten worst and her entire arm was swelling. She made her way to the hospital emergency and that’s when she was diagnosed with Pyoderma gangrenosum. The doctors explained that this infection usually appears when something else is wrong. They ran many blood tests and an MRI and that’s when my mom found out she had a brain tumour about a week ago. She has been referred to oncology to find out what the course of treatment will be.
Because of the infection on her hand, my mom did a course of antibiotic treatment which lasted almost 3 months. This has left my mom very weak, exhausted and having a constant feeling of being dizzy.
To make matters worst, my mom has been working for her company, Robillard Hearing Centres for 4 years and in January 2021 her company was bought out by Hearing Life. The waiting period for disability benefits is 185 days. Meaning my mom does not qualify at the moment. My mom has been doing part time hours even though she is not feeling her best but it’s unfortunately not enough considering she is also caring for my 13 year old sister who is still very dependant on my mom.
Any little bit would help, this would go towards covering basic necessities like her rent, groceries etc. Also, not to mention the cost of parking and traveling to all her hospital appointments.
Thank you!
