My name is Mostafa, and I never thought I would have to rebuild my family’s home from nothing. But here I am, standing on a pile of rubble that used to be our house, with only my bare hands, determination, and hope that the world has not forgotten us.

Before the war, we had a simple but beautiful life. My father ran a small grocery store, my mother took care of our home, and my younger siblings went to school with dreams of a future. Our house wasn’t big, but it was filled with warmth, laughter, and memories. Then, in a single night, everything was gone.

When the bombs fell, we ran for our lives, thinking we would return to pick up the pieces. But when we came back, there was nothing left. No walls, no roof—just shattered concrete and dust where our lives used to be. My father’s store was also destroyed, taking away the only income we had.

For weeks, we lived in a makeshift tent, relying on whatever aid we could get. My siblings asked when we would go home, but how do you tell them that home no longer exists? That we must start from zero?

I refused to give up. I borrowed tools and started clearing the rubble myself. Brick by brick, stone by stone, I began the impossible task of rebuilding. Some neighbors joined me, helping with whatever they could. Others brought small donations—some wood, a few bags of cement, even food for my family so we wouldn’t go hungry while working.

But the truth is, I can’t do this alone. I need your help.

Rebuilding a home in Gaza is not just about shelter—it’s about survival. It’s about giving my family a safe place to sleep, a roof over our heads before the next storm comes. It’s about giving my siblings a future, where they can do their homework in a real room, not under a plastic sheet. It’s about dignity.
