Mosi is my cousin’s dog and she needs our help in Peru! Mosi is a 4-year-old doggo rescued by my cousin when she was only a couple of weeks old. She is a loving girl who loves to eat, play, and keep her owners company!

On October 1st, Mosi suddenly lost the ability to use her hind legs without an obvious reason. After visiting several vets, my cousin was finally able to get a veterinarian who was willing to look into Mosi’s case. She was previously misdiagnosed, and one vet told her there was no point in doing a workup because she was going to be disabled forever. So far, Mosi’s blood work has been negative (yay!)! They think she might have a herniated disc based on her physical exam. We don’t know if she will be able to walk again, but she has some sensation in her hind legs, which means it’s not completely ruled out!

She has an MRI under general anesthesia on Monday, 10/6, to figure out exactly what is causing this. The cost of this test is approximately $250 US dollars. We don’t know the next steps, but a spinal surgery might be in her future. For now, we are trying to raise funds to cover her MRI bill and a doggy wheelchair!
