My name is Moses Kisembe, I am a determined young entrepreneur near Kisumu, Kenya who has been venturing into poultry farming, dairy goat farming and rice farming from 2016. As the director of the non-profit organization Harvest Hope, we utilized the profits from my Businesses, Bar and Restaurant, carwash and a live football hall to provide loans and training to other small business entrepreneurs.
My dreams are nearly being shuttered when life started to throw me a devastating curveball, and I am still reeling. In the span of a few months my challenges have been mounting up on a weekly basis. In the first week of January this year, I lost two family members and as the bread winner, I had to spend a lot on the burial expenses.
As I navigated the darkness of grief, life dealt me another blow. In March this year I was arrested and falsely accused of selling illegal products, counterfeit products at my Bar and Restaurant, a mistake that cost me greatly and tarnished my reputation and left me struggling to clear my name.
To make matters worse, in June 17th this year my business was burglarized, and lost over 2.5 million shillings. I was already on shaky ground, and this pushed me to the edge. In less than a year over 18 workers who have been befitting directly from my business are now jobless and myself also struggling to even feed my family.
Last month my wife fell ill with an ovarian cyst and needs surgery to recover, but with no money there is little I can do to help her and her daily pain.
The final straw was receiving an eviction notice from my rental property for December 15th. My family is at risk of becoming homeless, and it's terrifying.
I'm not asking for much, just a helping hand to get back on my feet. Your contribution will help me cover:
- Temporary housing and living expenses
- Business recovery costs
Every donation, big or small, will bring me closer to rebuilding my life. Your kindness and generosity will be forever cherished.
