Help Moroccan surfer get to his first contests!

Lahcen Aguerd is a talented young longboarder from Imsouane, a small fishing village on the coast of Morocco. He grew up in a traditional Berber family and has lived here all his life. He first went to the water as a child, when he used to go to the harbour everyday to help his father in his work as a fisherman.
Since those early days in the water and finding his own style in longboarding, Lahcen's surfing has progressed to such a level that he has now been invited to compete at international surf festivals Mexi Log Fest (Mexico) in June 2021 and Gliding Barnacles (Portugal) in September 2021. As the first Moroccan surfer ever to be invited to these competitions, he is stoked beyond belief and is doing everything he can to make it there to surf new waves and meet all the surfers who have inspired him for so long.
But he needs your help to get there!
Travelling to these countries isn't so easy with a Moroccan passport. The visa application process is long, uncertain and expensive beyond what Lahcen can afford alone. There are flights and visas to pay for, accommodation and entrance fees to be covered, and a little extra to spare to have a good time when he's there! It has always been Lahcen's dream to surf at these contests, so whatever donation you can make to help him he would be so incredibly grateful to you. If you've met Lahcen in Imsouane, you'll know he has incredible style in the water and the kindest soul. Just by watching him dance on his board in the Bay, you'll see how much this means to him.
2021 UPDATE: Things were looking really positive early 2020 after all of your kind donations, but then Covid arrived and pressed pause on everything. Both of Lahcen's visa appointments (for Portugal and Mexico) were cancelled as Morocco went into lockdown and the embassies closed, and they were not giving out tourist visas for the rest of the year. BUT he has been invited to both contests again this year, this time in June (Mexico) and September (Portugal) so he is starting the visa application process again and hopes to get there this year! He is so grateful for all of your kind donations so far, it really means the world to him to know he is supported by such a rad community.
