Hello there, my name is Moriah and I have Sickle Cell Disease. Sickle Cell is an inherited blood disorder that causes my red blood cells to be crescent or half-moon shaped instead of circled. My cells die early, leaving a shortage of healthy red blood cells, and can block blood flow causing extreme pain (sickle cell crisis). I have had 9 hospital admissions and 6 E.R. visits this year alone and as we are approaching winter, I’m expected to have a lot more. I’ve been trying to work, I have a passion for makeup and am currently a part-time employee for Sephora, however, with having most hospital visits be upwards of 2 week stays, working has become incredibly difficult and bills just keep piling up. I am also starting school in Jan. to become an RN, I would love nothing more than to join the team of people who have helped me at my worst and to advocate for those in need as I know, from experience, what it’s like and how it feels to be at your worst. I will be using the money to help pay medical expenses, bills, as well as school. Whatever the donation, great or small, it is appreciated! Thank you so much and may God bless. :)
