We are setting up this fundraiser on behalf of the Lyon’s family.

Erin and myself (Aubrey) are best friends with Madison. We are extremely close with her and her sweet family. This has already been a very difficult time for them emotionally and mentally with this unexpected news.

The next couple of months are going to require a lot of support, and the medical bills are going to be outrageous. Please read their story and consider donating; anything will help.

Madison and Jon were elated to welcome their third child, Morgan, into the world on the morning of September 9th. They were expected to discharge home on the morning of the 10th, but were shocked when a standard congenital heart screening showed Morgan’s body was receiving extremely low levels of oxygen. They were transported via EMS to the NICU at Children's DMC and were taken for a series of tests that showed a serious heart defect, Supracardiac TAPVR. This abnormality is usually incompatible with life. Thankfully, Morgan also has an atrial septal defect, a hole in the middle of the heart, which allows his oxygenated blood to mix with the rest of his blood to supply his tissues and organs with some oxygen.

The only treatment for this condition is open-heart surgery, which Morgan will undergo on September 26th. Morgan will require several weeks of recovery in the CVICU (cardiovascular ICU) following the repair, and extra care in his recovery once he is home with his family. We’ve organized this GoFundMe for Madison and Jon as they will be under enormous financial stress from the medical bills, time off work, and child care for their other two children, Amelia (6) and Oliver (2). If you know Madison and Jon at all, you know they are two of the most selfless people, always willing to lend a hand to others in need. Now, they are finding themselves in the scariest and worst moment of their lives, and we’d like to do what we can to alleviate any portion of that stress so that they can focus on the health and well-being of Morgan and their other two children.
