My name is Morgan, and I’m reaching out for help during the most difficult year my family has ever faced. Earlier this year, our house flooded, and we had to live in a hotel for a while, trying to keep things as normal as possible for my family. Just as we were starting to recover, my husband was arrested—and my daughters had to witness it. The trauma of that moment, on top of everything else, has been heartbreaking for all of us. I am a stay-at-home parent, and now my daughters and I are struggling to keep up with our bills, worried that we might lose our home. Every day feels uncertain, and it’s so hard to see my children go through things no child should have to experience.
On top of the stress of keeping a roof over our heads, I’m trying to find a job that will allow me to take my kids to and from school and their extracurriculars. My daughters mean everything to me, and I want to keep their lives as normal as possible. We’re also facing the painful decision of needing to rehome our dogs, as we can’t afford to care for them right now. It’s a loss that adds to the heartbreak we’re already feeling.
My family has been through so much this year, and my daughters are amazing children who don’t deserve these hardships. I appreciate anything anyone can offer us. Any support, no matter how small, would mean the world to us as we try to get back on our feet. Thank you for reading our story and for considering helping my family.
