Help Morganne & FiFi Recover After Eaton Canyon Fire

Donation protected
Many of you may know me from the many stories and photos Morganne posted of us over the years on Facebook. My name is Lonnie Roy. Even though I no longer live in Southern California, it has a special place in my heart right next to Morganne.

The Santa Ana winds propelled the Eaton Canyon Fire into an out-of-control situation. Thousands of people evacuated their homes, and the flames engulfed the buildings, leaving a huge trail of unrecognizable destruction. Destroying over 9000 structures and Altadena was in it’s path, and so was my dearest friend Morganne Picard. When I first heard the news from my Chicago home, I immediately called Morganne to tell her that she needed to evacuate now! She said she heard the neighbors' car doors and trunks slamming and was glued watching the fire on the television. It’s time, grab what you can and go! Morganne was dazed... Where do I go? I said head South... I will find a hotel. She grabbed her dog FiFi and some essentials and started driving south. Like the thousands of other Altadena residents, they all were fleeing their homes. Luckily, we found a hotel that accepted pets... 2 hours in line to check in, and she was then safe. Now it sets in... now it’s the waiting... will my home and all my possessions be saved? Time stops... then bits and pieces of information from friends and neighbors... images on television... GONE. In a flash, everything you own is gone. Not only her personal/family belongings but her accumulated 30 plus year career as a model, singer-performer. Sound equipment, computers, microphones, music charts, back tracks, rolling racks of costumes, jewelry... feather hats (signature look) Gone. How do you recover?

Morganne’s first tears were for her beautiful Altadena and the people of the community she became friends with. The small businesses that she would go to are all gone... the restaurants, the beautiful parks, and the community center. Then reality set in again with a neighbor sending her an image of where her house used to stand. Now, why didn’t I grab my laptop? I should have taken this and that... now begins the process of healing.

What I am hoping to do is help Morganne be able to get the essentials to start piecing together her life. Hopefully, we can give Morganne a little piece of security that will see her through this stressful time. I will be using Zelle to get her cash to her bank account and also purchasing some times for her through Amazon so it can be delivered directly to where she is staying…
If you can please donate and share. We need as many of her friends and fans to know what is happening. Thank you!
