Morgan is headed to Nationals!

With a first place finish at the state contest, Morgan has qualified for the National History Day Competition in Washington, D.C. Advancing to the National Competition is a significant achievement with less than 1% of the state participants earning an opportunity to represent Minnesota at Nationals. The total cost of travel, room and board for the weeklong competition is $2,200, and Morgan is fundraising with a goal to cover half the cost.

National History Day is a nationally recognized academic enrichment program promoting the study of history in schools. In Minnesota, the National History Day program is sponsored by the Minnesota Historical Society. Approximately 19,000 Minnesota students took part in the program this year, with just over 50 students moving on to the National Competition. These numbers emphasize the academic achievement required of national qualifiers.
