Help Morgan raise money to celebrate White Cane Day!
I'm raising money to help my daughter celebrate White Cane Day on October 15th at Pleasantville High School. On this day, we celebrate the achievements of those who are blind and vision impaired. This day symbolizes the importance of independence by using a white cane.
White Cane Day was established in 1964 by President Lyndon B. Johnson in an effort to raise awareness of those who use a white cane. It allows the blind and vision impaired to travel independently.
We will be using the funds raised to help with education and awareness for the high school students through various activities that day. We will be printing shirts for all students and faculty to wear, along with other educational resources to help others better understand what it's like to have no vision. We will be purchasing games, braille alphabet cards, and bandanas for blind walks with dogs from Guiding Eyes.
For those of you who know Morgan, you know that she wants to celebrate this day loud and proud, so we are kindly asking you to chip in what you can.
