Help Morgan participate in the Barclay Cup 2022

My name is Morgan, I am 16 years old and am fundraising for the opportunity to fly to the Gold Coast to participate in the 2022 Barclay Cup.

The Barclay Cup is very close to my heart because it is in honour of the late Jacinta Barclay, who passed away in 2020. Jacinta is a Perth woman who has opened remarkable pathways in women's sport, playing professional Baseball, American Football and good old Aussie Football.

The Barclay Cup and Jacinta's story holds great significance in my family’s hearts as I have struggled with mental health myself. Over the past 2 years my family and I have experienced a significant degree of trauma which has included domestic violence and being displaced from our family home in a rental crisis which resulted in living in transitional accommodation and changes in schools.

Late last year, I lost my sister Pamela who was only 22 years old. I know that she would be so proud of where I am today and that I have been offered the opportunity to participate in the Barclay Cup – she would not want me to miss this opportunity. Pamela was also passionate about sport, playing every sport under the sun, you just couldn’t keep up. Pamela was always there to support me through both my passions and glory and my struggles.

I hope my story shows how deeply Jacinta Barclay’s story resonates with me, and just how much this opportunity means to me to. It would truly be a once in a lifetime opportunity, as it is the last year I would be eligible to participate in the Barclay Cup.
