Help Morgan Kylie Ellis return to health.
I am Morgan Ellis’ Aunt Tiffany. Morgan is 20 years old and a student at Missouri S & T in Rolla and works 2 jobs there to pay for her car that is now totaled. On Saturday, 11-21-2020 she was involved in a horrific hydroplaning car accident on I-44 near Lebanon, MO when she was traveling from college in Rolla to her family home in Springfield. She ultimately was hit on the drivers side door by a semi. She was wearing a seatbelt. She had to be cut out of the car.
She was admitted as a Jane Doe in Spfld Mercy Hosp unresponsive as her parents frantically tried to figure out where she was by looking at her location on their phones but losing the connection with it in Conway. A state patrol then later called them to inform them of the serious accident and that she was en route to a hospital. He got their # from her license registration in her vehicle. He did not know which hospital she was taken to but they waited at Mercy ER and finally the staff came out and said yes, they have her. During this last 24 hours they learned she had a HUGE laceration across her forehead that required multiple stitches, a skull fracture, her left ear fixed and put back together by a plastic surgeon, broken ribs, collapsed left lung w a drain, 3 fractures in her pelvis, on a ventilator and in excruciating, thrashing pain when taken off sedation.
All with expected surgery on her pelvis 11-23-2020 (her moms birthday) and 3 months of non-weight bearing on her legs. Therefore she will be wheelchair bound for 3 months most likely. Morgan is a runner and will have a LONG ROAD TO RECOVERY. She will have to get wheelchair accessibility in the home. They are anxiously waiting for her to keep her eyes open and have a somewhat conversation with them. She does respond to her correct name. The doctors say that it will be day by day.
