Help Morgan heal from stage 4 cancer!

Hello everyone!
My name is Taylor McKindsey. I am Morgan’s sister in law (JDs older sister).

Some of you may have read Morgan’s initial story back in May of 2023. Since then things have changed significantly for Morgan. To be completely transparent, I had set up a gofundme for Morgan when she was first diagnosed and was unable to work for several months. During that time Morgan underwent surgery and radiation and was unable to work for an extended period of time. After Morgan finished radiation she was able to return to work on reduced hours but things have taken a turn in the last 2 weeks.

At the end of October Morgan had more testing and scans to get a bigger picture on what exactly radiation had done for her. This was also to investigate the increase in her pain. After her most recent scans were reviewed Morgan, Jd, and our families did not get the news we were hoping for. Last week she met with her oncology team to go over results and was told that unfortunately the cancer has spread again. This time, Morgan’s oncologist told her that she is “incurable”.

If you haven’t read Morgan’s initial story- please read this quick rundown. If you remember, just skip ahead.
In 2023, after years of unexplained symptoms and pain, Morgan was diagnosed with a neuroendocrine tumour called a paraganglioma. The tumour was located in her abdomen and attached to her kidney. When the cancer was first discovered, she learned that it had spread from the initial site to the surrounding lymph nodes, her spine, neck, and a small spot in her lung. She underwent a 7 hour operation where they removed the tumour, the kidney it was attached to and the affected lymph nodes. The remaining areas in the bone were treated with radiation.
When Morgan was initially diagnosed in 2023, she was given a stage 4 diagnosis as the cancer had spread to the bone (mostly her spine).

After her latest scan she learned that the cancer had spread inside the bone to her skull, her ribs, and her pelvis, as well as some more lymph nodes.
Morgan is not a candidate for Chemo due to the type of cancer that she has. Her doctors also no longer feel she would benefit from radiation.
At this point, Morgan has been deemed by oncology as “incurable”.
As you can imagine, this is very heavy news...

Since the door on chemo and radiation have been closed, Morgan and JD feel it is best to seek alternative treatment in an attempt to heal her body. As many of you know, this is not covered by insurance and can be very pricy. Anything Morgan and her doctor choose to do from here on out will have to be paid out of pocket. We do not want Morgan to have to worry about how she will access treatment due to the financial burden that it brings. We want her to be able to have options through other healing modalities that if nothing else, bring her comfort and help reduce her pain. There are endless possibilities and avenues that Morgan can explore but in order to do so, they will need financial support.
Morgan is only 30 years old and should be focused on starting a life with her husband, grooming dogs (which she loves so much), and enjoying her life!! As Morgan’s family, we want nothing more than to take this away from her but unfortunately it won’t be that easy. Morgan has a hard fight ahead of her, but we are confident we can find another way to heal her.

If you are able to contribute anything to her healing journey, please know that Morgan and our entire family are forever grateful.
If you are unable to donate, please share her story or say a prayer for her!

Thank you to every single one of you who took the time to read an update on our sweet Morgan!

Love Taylor
