I am a 43-year-old single mom raising a 15-year-old son, and I’ve been fighting invasive ductal carcinoma for the past couple of years. My journey has included a mastectomy, chemotherapy, radiation, seven surgeries, and countless treatments. While I try to stay strong for my son, it’s been incredibly tough. I lost my job because I had too many doctors appointments and, unfortunately, I was just shy of qualifying for FMLA. Just two days ago, while driving, a deer struck my only vehicle and totaled the front side. I only have liability insurance, so I have no way to repair or replace my car. Without a vehicle, I don’t know how I’ll be able to continue my cancer treatments or take care of daily needs for my household. I’m reaching out for help because I truly don’t know what else to do.
