My name is Amanda and reaching out to ask for your support for my dear friends, Morgan and Reza.
They’re seven months pregnant, preparing to welcome their first baby, and are now facing an incredibly overwhelming situation.
Like so many others devastated by the Eaton Canyon and Palisades fire, their lives were turned upside down on January 7th, when they had to make the heart-wrenching decision to leave their beloved home in Altadena. They grabbed what they could—some belongings, their three cats—and evacuated as they watched the fire approaching their beautiful community. Their home was so much more than just a house; it was the place they had lovingly planned to bring their baby into the world in just a couple months.
Although their home is miraculously still standing, the neighborhood around it is destroyed. When they were finally allowed back two weeks later, they discovered the house had suffered severe smoke damage. Everything inside—furniture, clothes, baby items—was covered in soot and ash. Sadly, the house is no longer safe to live in, especially for a newborn.
Morgan and Reza are now scrambling to find a new place to live, rebuild their lives, and prepare for the arrival of their baby. But without renters insurance to cover their losses, they’re facing the impossible choice of paying out of pocket to clean and save what they can or starting over from scratch—and buying everything new.
I’ve started this GoFundMe because Morgan and Reza need our help to get through this devastating time. They’re two of the kindest, most loving people I know, and I can’t imagine how stressful and heartbreaking this has been for them.
Your generosity will go directly toward:
• Finding and securing a safe, family-friendly apartment to rent
• Remediating or replacing belongings damaged by smoke and soot
• Prepare for their baby’s arrival
Anything you can give, no matter the size, or simply sharing their story, will mean the world to them. Let’s rally together to help Morgan and Reza rebuild and give their growing family a fresh start.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for supporting two truly wonderful people during one of the hardest times of their lives
