Moose was diagnosed with diabetes in October, and I have been doing everything I can to manage her condition and keep her stable.
Yesterday, her health declined rapidly. She became very weak, stopped eating and drinking, began vomiting, and lost stability in her back legs. I took her to VEG ER in Williamsburg this morning, and they ran tests and sent us to The Animal Medical Center in the city for urgent specialist care.
She is now hospitalized for ongoing care related to serious complications from her diabetes.
Right now, Moose needs close monitoring, testing, medications, and supportive care to stabilize her and determine the best path forward. The hospital team is working to understand what caused this sudden change and how to safely support her recovery.
This has been scary, sad and overwhelming, and her care will require time and significant medical resources. I’m asking for help to cover the cost of Moose’s emergency care, hospitalization, and ongoing treatment. Unfortunately, this may be close to $17,000.
Any contribution, big or small, helps ease the financial strain and allows me to focus on getting her the care she needs.
Thank you for supporting Moose during this critical time and for helping give her the best chance to recover.
