I am a veteran with three honorable discharges, and throughout my life, I’ve always been the one to help others. Those who know me as Moose can attest to the support I’ve given, and my friends have seen firsthand the ways I’ve stepped up for those in need. I’ve faced many surgeries—three different pacemakers, a spine fusion in my neck, two new knees, carpal tunnel surgery, a mini stroke, sinus surgery, and even had my uvula removed. Alongside these physical challenges, I’ve battled PTSD, sleep apnea, depression, anxiety, ringing ears, and eye issues. Most recently, I was diagnosed with cancer, had a tumor removed, underwent radiation, and am now on my fifth round of chemotherapy out of twelve. The VA and private healthcare have done their best to put me back together, and I am forever grateful for their efforts.

Despite all these challenges, I’ve never asked for help until now. Chemotherapy has made me sick and caused significant hair loss, and my teeth keep breaking off at the gum line, exposing nerves and making it impossible to chew. I’ve lost over 100 pounds because of this, and the military is unable to provide the dental work I need. My pride has kept me from asking for help, but I can’t afford the implants that would finally give me white teeth—a lifelong dream. I also need help getting my American flagpole set up, a symbol of my patriotism and service. Right now, I can’t mow my own lawn, so I’ve had to hire it out, and every bit of support makes a difference.

I’m not asking for a handout, but a hand up. If you’re able to help, your support will go directly toward dental work, recovery during chemotherapy, and setting up my flagpole.
