Help Moose Get His Smile Back

Donation protected
Moose became sick a couple of weeks ago. It appeared to be an ear infection that was also affecting his balance. A few days later the right side of his face became paralyzed. He went down to Texas A&M to have a CT done and have surgery to clean his ear out. The CT did not confirm an ear infection so they didn’t do the surgery. He was sent home to continue the meds prescribed by his vet here locally. He seemed to be making slow improvements over the next several days, but I feel like the meds are giving up. He needs to have an MRI and possibly a scope run up his nose to see if he has a foreign object embedded in there somewhere. A few days ago while brushing his teeth I pulled out the shell of a grass seed called Sideoats Grama. It is somewhat similar to foxtail although not quite as gnarly looking. Due to Moose’s facial deformities finding the seed and getting it out is going to be extremely difficult and risky. We were hoping to give the meds more time to see if Moose could clear this on his own, but with grass seeds time is critical. They can migrate anywhere in the body and cause a lot of damage due to the toxins and bacteria in them. If Moose loses the function in the other side of his face, he will die. He is having quite a bit of difficulty eating already with one side gone and I don’t think he will be able to eat at all if the other side goes. My business has been closed for two months while I was building a place for Wilbur to stay so I am completely tapped out. The bills on this are sitting at just over $2,400 already. I really appreciate the donations that were already made on the gofundme page for Ole Man. They have so far knocked about $1,200 off of that after fees. I wanted to start this campaign individually to make it less confusing and easier to share. I know a lot of folks like to give anonymously and I understand that, but I would like to be able to send some Moose Calendars or T-shirts to the folks that donate. So if you don’t want to put your name on here, at least send a message to his page and I’ll go from there. Once I catch my breath I’m going to start working on some Moose Merchandise to help fund his medical stuff in the future. Thank all of you that love Moose. We have to get that smile back.
