Hi, my name is Shana and I’m fundraising for my dog, Moose, a very sweet rescue who survived a traumatic past. The local shelter I adopted him from responded to calls for a dog with a severe facial injury. Kids were throwing rocks at him and calling him a “monster dog.” The dog they found had an old traumatic facial injury. Part of his tongue, lips, and nose are missing. Many of his teeth are either missing or broken and worn down.
In the few months I’ve had Moose, he’s been a happy boy learning house life. He’s getting the hang of potty training, loves playing with his new sister, and still gives the dishwasher side-eye. Recently, I’ve noticed that he’s not as excited at mealtime and that he has a harder time breathing at night. I took him to a local maxillofacial/oral surgeon who recommended a couple of surgeries to help Moose. They’d like to give Moose more of a bottom lip with the tissue available, reattach his jowls, move up what’s left of his external nose to ease his breathing, and do a full dental which may include extensive extractions. Both surgeries would cost $12,817, not including the pre-surgical testing and medications.
I can’t afford to pay for the surgeries for Moose on my own and am humbly asking that you consider donating to Moose. I’d like to update this story with progress photos of his cute little face if folks are able to donate.
Thanks for reading and take care!
