Help Moose Breathe Again
Donation protected
Meet Moose – the spunky, happy-go-lucky dog who lights up every room with his infectious love and personality. Moose is more than just a pet; he’s a best friend to a young boy who has grown up with him by his side. Rescued as a puppy, Moose quickly became the heart and soul of the family. He’s always there, wagging his tail and ready to spread joy. But now, this lovable pup is facing a serious health challenge that requires urgent attention.
Moose has been diagnosed with **Brachycephalic Obstructive Airway Syndrome (BOAS)**, a condition affecting his breathing due to abnormal skull bone development. As a result, Moose is struggling to breathe and will continue to face more serious complications as he gets older, including **laryngeal collapse, bronchial collapse, aspiration pneumonia, and even organ and heart failure**. Without corrective surgery, the future is uncertain for Moose, and his family’s worst fear is that his health will continue to deteriorate.
They have already gone above and beyond, covering the costs of his specialist appointments. However, due to his breed, they were informed that insurance wouldn’t cover it. Additionally, they had to spend thousands out of their own pocket before having insurance, due to an eye injury he sustained as a small puppy when they adopted him. It’s been a bit of a struggle over the past couple of years, but the love this little dog gives is priceless.
The estimated cost for Moose's surgery is $7,396 and they need your help to make this life-saving procedure possible. Over the years they have helped when they could with donations to other families, pets or personal issues they always tried to help others when possible and never expected to have to ask themselves and still won't, even though they do not have this money on hand. That is why I am trying to help them by posting this gofundme and asking for help on their behalf.
**How You Can Help:**
*Every dollar counts* and will go directly toward Moose’s surgery and medical expenses. Whether you can donate $5, $20, or more, your contribution will make a world of difference in his life. Moose deserves to live without the constant struggle for air, and with your help, we can give him the chance to breathe easy again.
If you're unable to donate, **please consider sharing Moose’s story** with others. The more people who see his campaign, the greater the chance of reaching the goal and giving this sweet pup the life-saving surgery he so desperately needs.
You can also give directly to his file (until March 3rd) : Moose Woods - at West Coast Animal Veterinary Emergency Specialty (WAVES) Hospital in Langford - 1-778-432-4322.
**Why We Need Your Support:**
Moose isn’t just a dog; he’s a member of the family. He’s always there for his boy, offering unconditional love and loyalty. As much as his family wants to do everything for him, they simply cannot afford the surgery on their own. They’ve already sacrificed so much for their animals, or foster animals and now it’s time for us to show them the same love and support that they’ve shown others.
Thank you for taking the time to read Moose's story. Your kindness, whether through a donation or a share, means the world to Moose and his family. Let’s work together to give this loving dog the chance to live a long, healthy life by his boy’s side.
