This is Mookie. Many know her as the rainbow cat from her many videos online. Mookie has already had an extremely rough start to life. At 5 weeks old she was found clinging to life with a fractured skull and her eye falling out. She made a full recovery to only be attacked by a dog at 7 months old. She suffered a puncture through her already missing left eye into her nasal airway as well as a broken upper jaw. She again healed like a champ just to be met with a foreign body obstruction surgery at only 1.5 years old. Thankfully the surgery went well, however the battle was FAR from over. After 5 days at the ER dealing with spiking fevers, severly low white blood cells, as well as severe nasal discharge. The doctors were at a loss but Mookie is a fighter! She managed to make immense progress overnight, enough to come home. After a long, heartbreaking night of expecting the worst. It was truly a breath of fresh air. But the fight is not over. Mookie is home but she is on tons of medications as well as still not eating. She currently has to be syringe fed as well as she will also need to visit a specialist to undergo a diagnosis for the nasal discharge. As everyone knows, vet visits aren’t cheap. However something like this was truly the last thing we could’ve ever expected. We want to ensure our pets receive the very best, but we also don’t want to spread ourselves thin doing so.
