Help Monty the BEAGLE beat Cancer’s BUM!

Donation protected
Monty is our fun, funny, lovable and affectionate  Baby Beagle Bum!

He’s just 14 months old when this nightmare began…

Monty returned home from his usual doggy daycare on the 28th of Jan with a red and irritated eye. With Monty’s parents the kind of paranoid type, off
Mont went to the vet for a check up on the 29th of Jan for his eye. The vet said it was conjunctivitis and sent Mont home with some antibiotic eye ointment. As the week went on his eye looked worse and a little lump appeared underneath his eye on his snout. On the 2nd of Feb we took him back to the vet but saw the ophthalmologist, she thought it maybe be a blocked tear duct and did a Fluorescein check and Mont had no tears coming through. He was then sent home with Acular drops and Loxicom. The ophthalmologist booked him in for a fine needle aspirate for the 9th of Feb and decided to do a CT as his left eye seemed to be bulging a little forward then sent him home with a lubricant eye drop and a wait for 1-2 weeks for the results. On the 11th of Feb his eye was looking like it was bulging more, so Mont was back to the vets who managed a rush on his tests. Later that day we got an awful call saying the CT appeared like a malignant mass and the vet was referring us to Southfield Vet in Basildon (Essex, UK). We rushed to the Southfield vet that afternoon where we met the head of Oncology- Sarah Mason, who did a physical exam on Mont’s eye and lumps and recommended he stay in for monitoring and pain medication and be booked in for surgery or biopsies on 14th of Feb. The Maxillofacial surgeon called to on the morning of 14th of Feb to say Monty was having an ultrasound and he was hoping to go in and drain and abscess (best case scenario) or take biopsies of the mass. Unfortunately, he did the latter. He also said the mass is quite close to the cranial nerves and he would not operate on this mass. The Maxillo referred back to the Oncologist and when Sarah called she gave us a few options and one being aggressive radiation with removal of Mont’s left eye and as much of the mass that the Maxillo could get to safely. On the 15th of Feb we got the call from Sarah saying the preliminary report is pointing to Lymphoma which responds well to chemo usually. Fast forward to the 17th of Feb and they got the confirmation that it is Lymphoma and an ultrasound of Mont’s liver and spleen were both clear from obvious cancer masses (biopsies taken and sent away just incase). So Mont officially started his first dose of Vincristine chemotherapy on the 17th. ❤️

Monty is a cheeky, little, Beagle with all the personality! He has so much still left to sniff in this world he is not ready to go after only being around for 14 months!

Please help our fur baby get the treatment he needs to carry on doing the things he loves!
  • Sniffari walks

The money raised here will go towards Mont’s veterinary treatment costs for Chemo and potentially some radiation and all the other meds that may be needed. Mont has pet insurance with PetPlan on the classic + policy which entitles him to a £7000 per year claim amount. We’ve got £2000 saved in Monty’s expense fund. So we just need to raise the surplus that won’t be covered by the pet insurance. The oncologist quoted us that this would cost between £10000 to £15000.
If you would like to see any invoices please message me.

If you are able to contribute in any way- be it financially or a SHARE to reach as many people as we can, THANK YOU!  ❤️

Any extra money raised will go towards helping the Animal Cancer Trust continue doing their amazing work.

Let’s help baby Monty beat Cancer!! ❤️‍

 UPDATE (18 Feb)
Monty is finally home to begin his rest for this journey ahead to kick cancer’s butt!
He is quite sleepy and on quite a bit of pains meds until the enucleation of his left eye. So the oncologist wants to prioritise the chemo to try see if it shrinks the mass and helps lessen the complications for surgery of the eye.
He has gobbled his dinner down! Right now, we just taking each day as it comes. Please keep Monty in your thoughts. ❤️

Thank you to all the generous donations and messages of love and support! We are feeling so overwhelmed by the kindness and love of you all. ❤️ x
