Help Monty Survive & Heal
Donation protected
Monty and Elyse (pictured together) are BEST friends! She has cared for him since he was adopted at 12 months old and walked beside him as he overcame his anxiety and general timidness to become a sweet, kind and cuddly companion. They spend every waking moment together when they can and end their nights snuggled up together to go to sleep.
On the 6th of August 2023, we received the devastating news that our sweet boy would need major surgery and ongoing medical treatment and support to continue to live his life.
Monty had developed a large tumour on his genitals and now needed to access life-saving surgery to remove this to allow him to use his urinary functions properly. There is also further concern about this tumour being a sign of further problems that need to be investigated.
This surgery comes with risks and is costly, but we could not stand by and not provide the much-needed health care Monty required.
He will also need ongoing follow-up, treatment and care from the hospital and his family to assist him to live a good quality of life again (including Zoomies!).
With the ongoing economic pressures of day-to-day living, growing bills and planning for a wedding (so Monty's parents can get married!), the cost of Monty's health care has placed significant strain on the household.
If anyone is in the position to be able to give, even the smallest amount, to assist in Monty's current emergency needs and ongoing medical treatment, we would be so appreciative and grateful.
All of the funds raised will go directly to supporting Monty and his healthcare as we continue to support him to lead his highest quality of life. We will both need to continue to work to support the rest of our family and pay medical bills.
We have seen other family and friends also go through heartbreaks and distress with their own animals and have seen communities rally around such causes. We are heartbroken that our boy has to undergo such significant medical intervention and are holding onto hope that we will be able to nurse him back to health and have him around for as much time as possible!
Thank you to everyone that has already been so kind and supportive with their thoughts and prayers - we are prepared to continue fighting for Monty, so he and Elyse can be best friends for years to come!
