Hi! My name is Jacqui; I am fundraising for Monty Shipman. For over 25 years, Monty served as a guitar tech and stage manager for many prominent bands in the metal/rock scene. Monty found recovery through the Lord and currently works as lead behavior health tech and guitar tech at a recovery center. He also serves as a sober coach to individuals in the community. Monty has chosen to take a lifetime of lessons learned and dedicate himself to being a servant to those in need.
Back in July, Monty had a series of mini-strokes and was out of work for a week or so but made a full recovery.
On September 30, Monty had a big stroke. He was in ICU for a few days and finally made it to a regular room. This time, however, his recovery has been slower as the impact of the stroke was much greater than in July.
Currently, he is in a rehabilitation facility where he is doing therapy to regain strength and functionality in his right arm. He is doing speech therapy to regain speech skills and learning to walk without weakness on his right side.
He has lived through some amazing tours with Motörhead and Jackyl, to name a few; therefore, I know he has a lot of fight in him—I see it everyday. His main goal is to get well enough to return to work and continue helping others obtain sobriety.
At this time, I need help making sure his bills are paid (e.g., rent, phone, utilities, etc.) so that he has a home to return to when he is stable enough to return to independent living.
