Help Monty Fix His Overbite

Donation protected
More pictures, etc. coming soon.

On June 13th, I adopted a Labrador/golden retriever/German shepherd mix named Monty, and was informed that he has a Class II Malocclusion, AKA an overbite. This isn't uncommon in all 3 breeds.

Included is a breakdown of costs involved, as estimated by the only dog dentist in my city. Most of the cost comes from anesthesia. I have someone who will stay with him to provide surgical aftercare when I return to work. Medications alone will be $207.92. He'll need a dental check-up a few months after the surgery, but I hope to have full time work by then.  I understood the costs of adopting a dog when I got Monty, but a dental complication this early was a shock.

Because he still has his baby teeth, there is no scheduled surgery date. However, he will need it when he is around 6-7 months old (October-November 2020).

Monty is a massive light in my life. After the death of my childhood Labrador, Chica (June 2003-August 2019), I was deeply depressed but managed to push myself through my final year of college. I told myself that in the spring I would get another dog and give them just of good of a life. This came true with Monty, who has been a huge support for my mental health and keeping me on a schedule while I navigate a post-graduation world. I couldn't ask for a better puppy or friend. My life has a track again: I graduated, I'm employed, I have my dog & cat, and I'm on my way to changing my name and medically transitioning. It pains me to think that he has to suffer for even a moment, but thankfully, once his adult teeth come in this can be fixed.
