Help Monther's Family Rebuild After War

Hello, I am Monther from Khan Yunis in the Gaza Strip. I am 19 years old. I am a high school student. I am the eldest in my family of 27 people. I used to live in a beautiful house and live a quiet and beautiful life.

I studied at my school until October 7, 2023. Then the war started. I was deprived of education and the school was closed and completely targeted. I was deprived of all my rights: my right to play, my right to freedom, my right to move, my right to healthy food, treatment, study and a good future. On January 21, 2024, our house was besieged by the Israeli occupation army. We were shot, bombed and shelled.

I and my family members were injured with various wounds. Then we escaped miraculously, and headed to the city of Rafah, which the occupation army claims is a safe area. We lived in a tent made of thin cloth that did not protect against the cold of winter or the heat of summer, and did not contain the most basic necessities of life. There was no sufficient mattress to sleep in, nor a blanket from the cold. We stayed there for days and months without food

except for a little unhealthy food.

With the unavailability of healthy food and healthy drink, I was infected with hepatitis C for a whole month, during which I did not receive treatment due to its unavailability, and I suffered many misfortunes.

While we were in Rafah, the occupation army withdrew from Khan Yunis for a few hours. We headed to the city to find out that our house had been completely destroyed, and with it went our beautiful memories, dreams and ambitions. We became truly homeless.

It became like this

On May 1, the occupation army entered the city of Rafah and we returned to the completely destroyed city of Khan Yunis, which was unfit for living. We stayed in a house belonging to my grandfather, which the occupation had completely burned down. It had no doors or windows, only the destroyed wall.
